I was sorry to hear the sad news, my sincere condolences.

John ennis mentioned the tragic news when we met up for Christmas lunch in the city yesterday. I first met geoff in national accounts and the day we met he had just come back from a Porsche owners skiing weekend with a sun tan and two white eyes!!.

Of course john then managed the account and the rest is history.

From looking at the photos and memory comments you have not changed. Can’t believe it’s 30 years since card acquiring and both john and I passed the 70 milestone this year.

Kindest regards

RIP , Geoff, your sense of humour was certainly unique and very British. We'll all miss that along with your intellect and friendship.

Happy memories of a childhood friendship, founded in Kenya, lost for decades then recovered. Rest in peace Geoff.

In memory of a friendship that lasted not far short of 50 years. From the three day week to Brexit, from old bangers to Porsches, even from Ted Heath to Theresa May, we found humour in most things.

It is a little ironic, in the light of Geoff's later undoubted skills with cars, that the first time that I met him (in 1972) he was pushing a broken-down Mini onto a garage forecourt and, as the steering was broken, he was having to deliver hefty kicks to the front wheel to get it to turn. We laughed about that then (as we did on many later occasions) and an enduring friendship was formed.

It was this unique sense of humour, often trying to find something to laugh at when things weren't going well, that was the basis of our friendship. There was also the fact that we didn't spend all our lives in each other's pockets but he was always there if I wanted anything and vice-versa. Our lives went in different directions but there was always something that one or the other of us had done that would give us something to laugh about when we met up. Over the years we built up a catalogue of amusing stories that we would recall from time to time over a pint or two. I always imagined that we would end up as a couple of old codgers reminiscing in a pub somewhere but now that is not to be. I'll just sit there and talk to myself and laugh out loud until those men in their white coats come for me!

For all of the things that we did together, from a great trip to California in 1980 to skiing on two continents, I will have memories that will last my lifetime. You will always be with me in these memories, Geoff, and thank you for being a friend and companion throughout the decades.

Think this was NYE about 25 years ago. Recall that quite a lot of vodka was involved....
