Chris and I met 34 years ago doing a joint cub camp with our respective groups. I was very lucky to fall in love with this wonderful woman who I married 1st of November 1986. We have enjoyed nearly 33 years of married life and had a wonderful son called ben in the December of 1986, in fact Chris went into labour during the Christmas carol concert at St Stephens in Sneinton. We later went on to run our own group at St Judes where we spent many happy years. After we left scouting we went on to do amateur dramatics. Chris's first role was singing base in Annie and then went on to play a drunk in the ghost train. After leaving that behind her we went and threw our selves into caravanning where we have made many great friends (to many to mention) we have been to sites all over England but her favourite place to go was Norfolk which we would try to get to at least once a year. Her other favourite camp site is Lurcher camp site near Rainworth. She was the light of my life, she taught me so much about life and how to live it to the full. I will always miss her sweet smile and laugh. Love you forever. Tim xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Words are so hard to find at times like this, nothing seems adequate somehow, but I can only say how very sorry I am for the loss to Tim and Ben, and to both families and friends for the loss of a lovely lady in Chris. My heartfelt condolences to you all.

Fallen Limb

A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me”.
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest.
Remembering all, how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again.
