In loving memory of Callum Taylor who sadly passed away on 7th April 2019
Callum leaves behind Mum (Laura) Dad (Neil) and little sister (Ava-Grace)
as well as Mamma’s (Sue and June) Grandad’s (Colin and Adrian) Aunties (Claire, Jess and Jordan), Uncle’s (Richard Lewis and Chris) and cousin’s (Bella and Jude) plus the rest of his extended family.

Callum was a very special and unique young man, with a heart of gold, he was funny, kind, helpful and caring, he was a bright and independent young man who showed great integrity and was never one to follow a crowd, nothing meant more to him than his family, who he was immensely protective and proud of.

Callum was a joy to be around and despite life’s obstacles he fought the battle of life hard, he was a wonderful son and big brother and no-one made him prouder than his little sister with whom he shared an incredible bond.

Callum attended the Island Project for around 3 years before his passing. The Island Project is a not for profit alternative education provider for young people who struggle in a typical classroom environment, Callum flourished here and particularly enjoyed working with animals in which he was a natural, he was studying for a Level 2 Diploma in Animal Care at the time of his passing, Callum loved his time here where he was treated with the upmost respect and could really be himself.

We will be setting up a charity in Callum's memory to really make a difference, we want to help other young men who struggle with their mental health, particularly young men and those on the Autistic Spectrum, we would like to raise awareness and fundraise to help pay for anything that may help, we have had experience with CAHMS (Child and adolescent mental health services) but they are so busy it takes so long to get an appointment etc so we would like to be able to fundraise to maybe help pay for private treatment, though our aim is to save lives, should the very worst happen it would be great if we could help to pay towards funeral costs, anything that could take the pressure off really.
As this is not set up yet donations can be made by bank transfer to Barclays bank sortcode 202525 account number 23932435, please use Callum's charity as the reference.

£500 has already been raised for Papyrus and £620 for the Island Project (we have donated to both) where Callum attended, this is tremendous so thank you to all that have donated.

Thank you to everyone who attended Callum's funeral, for all the kind words, cards, flowers, donations etc, it is very much appreciated.

I am sure you all have memories of when you crossed paths with Callum please keep those memories because those are the ones that can never be taken away.

Please feel free to light a candle or leave a comment or a photograph, we will be purchasing a memory book so we can keep them all.

Rest in peace Callum, we will always love you, we miss you but can take some comfort in the fact you are now at peace, although losing you has obviously devastated me I love you enough to respect the fact you are where you wanted to and needed to be and no longer have to live a life of pain and difficulty, you were too good for this world son.

I love you son, I will try and be strong and carry on for your little sister as I know that is what you would want me to do, I will make sure your death will not be in vain and will, in the future make sure I help others in a similar situation as you were, like I know you would want me to, in tribute to yourself.

You will always be with us, I LOVE YOU
Fly high son your memory will live on.

  • Thank you, we are absolutely devastated that Callum felt he had to leave this world, so many unanswered questions. Callum was let down badly by some of the people who were meant to be his friends, yet still remained loyal. Due to rumours and maliciousness both on and off line Callum had to put up with a lot of agro which broke him. I hope lessons can be learnt from this and people will be kind to others and think about how their actions and words can affect others, it wont bring him back but may save others from having to go through this heartache. Callum was a lovely lad who struggled enough with being on the autistic spectrum and trying to be excepted without people being so malicious. This is not directed at you by the way, thank you for being Callums friend. I hope we get some answers from the inquest.

From the moment you were born and throughout your life’s journey I have stood right behind you - knowing the difficulties you have had to face and overcome, I have nothing but pride for all you have achieved. You were such an individual with such compassion and such strong beliefs which allowed you to grow into someone I admired.
I have always held you close to my heart and that will never change. Although it’s very painful, I guess you were tired with you battle and Mamma respects you for that.
I have and always will continue to love you Cal.
Wishing you endless peace.
