Margaret Cooper (1 Mar 1943 - 16 Apr 2019)

I have been looking for new tutorials on Youtube from Maggie. During this last yr, I'd been watching and learning from Maggie's videos. I loved the way she corrected herself sometimes and wish I was enjoying a cup of tea and conversation with her about digitizing. I found out this week that she had passed away. I'm grateful for her knowledge that she shared with me through her videos. I wish Maggie's family many beautiful memories of her. Thank you

This is rather late, as I have been away from the internet while traveling. I do wish to send a Thank you to Maggie - I am sure she can hear it. Also wishes for all of her family to find the strength & humour in memories that they will need to carry them forward. Blessings to all.

I first met Maggie in the old Janome Embroidery Forum. Although I only directly interacted with her once, I learned a great deal from her. She is a very precious person that will live on in many people's memories.
I live on Oahu, Hawaii, USA.

Maggie's influence on so many of her "embroidery students" has been profound. She is going to be missed by many. My condolences to her family. We are missing an amazing woman.

Over the years that I have been a self helpers group member, there was rarely a time when I did not marvel, with delight and gratitude, at the depth of Maggie's kindness and generosity. I can say with certainty that, personally, given the difficulties I initially encountered as I tried to learn to digitize, that I would not have continued on without Maggie's dedicated and caring support.

The scope of her knowledge and depth of experience, in embroidery and other fields, was astounding. I can remember many times scratching my head and asking myself, "How does she know this?" Once, when I was describing her understanding of the workings of computers to a local tech geek, he responded by saying, "With what she knows about computers, this woman could land an airplane!" I was sure he was right!

There were several years when she and I would exchange email and share thoughts about a wide range of subjects. No matter what we discussed, whether it was English royalty, the war in Afghanistan, or gemstones, and yes, early on, even health issues, I was always learning something new and compelling from her.

Like others, I never met Maggie in person but I had long counted her as a dear friend.

I offer condolences to her family and all who were privileged to know such a special woman.

She will be missed, now and always.

I never met Maggie in person but knew her through the groups where she so graciously taught and shared her talents. She was a wonderful giving person and she amazed me at how knowledgeable she was in everything. I also loved her stories about herself and her family. With deepest sympathy, understanding and prayer to Maggie's family.

I too never met Maggie in real life but the help she gave on a one to one basis made it possible to 'know' her for real. Such a funny, generous and realistic person. I for one will remember her with great fondness. I am also in the Uk, Berkshire to be exact.

I have never met Maggie in person but have known her thru her maggieselfhelpers yahoo group since 2004. She was one of the most giving person that I have ever known. I know that she loved her family above all, but I also feel that she loved each and every person that she met thru her group. She never hesitated to help us when we had a problem or a question. She will be greatly missed by everyone she helped! May God Bless and Comfort each of you during this time of sadness.

Maggie was a wonderful teacher. She spent an incredible amount of time responding to our questions, making videos to show us how to create special effects with embroidery, and creating challenges to further reinforce what we'd learned. I appreciated her dedication to her online groups and all that she did for us, especially since she had no expectation of financial return. She was a very special lady.

Although I never met Maggie, she was so inspirational and had that wonderful can-do spirit. Her wit and wisdom will be missed. I think of her whenever I am digitizing an embroidery design since I never would have known where to start without her help.

Words are not enough Maggie as a tribute to you, I can only return the love you shared with us all.

I have been with Maggie's groups and a recipient of her generously shared knowledge and humor for more years than I care to count. I have always felt that I knew her and her family intimately just by all the humorous, and sometimes not so humorous, stories of her life that she shared. She was always there for anyone who had a problem of any kind - it didn't even have to be about embroidery. She was a remarkable woman and a truly generous soul. I will miss her knowledge, stories, humor, quick wit and spirit immensely, as I am sure will so many people around the world that she touched. I pray God continues to hold Maggie and her family in the palm of his hand, as he does all his treasures, which she truly was. I feel blessed to have known her and want her family to know there is a void in the world without her.

Maggie you will be missed, I owe so much to you and your heartfelt giving of your time and talent. You taught me so much about digitizing and I truly loved all of your lessons and videos over the years. I am able to make designs for people that are so personal because of you. Wish I could have met you in person and been able to thank you in person for all the knowledge shared because of your love for machine embroidery. You will be missed in this life, you have earned your time to rest. This world has lost a teacher, a friend and a wonderful kind human being. My love and prayers to your family during this very difficult time.

I was so amazed at her vast knowledge of most things artistic!!! I’ve been blessed knowing her even though it was only online!!! Keep her joy for life and be sure to have nerf fights with the little ones!!!! Your mother was a special woman!

So sorry for your loss. She will be greatly missed! Such a kind, generous witty lady. I have learned so much from her!

Bless you Maggie. I didn’t do much digitizing but loved your wit and knowledge. I always shared your stories with my mom and sister. They looked forward to your emails. Thank you for everything

Sweetheart and flower I will always think of Maggie when I see or hear those words. Was very glad to be let into her internet circle of friends. She was a wonderful passionate teacher. I learned so much from her. Maggie once gave me a cyber hung when I needed it and I am sure her whole internet friends would like to give her family a cyber hung too. She will be missed! Irreplaceable - that's the first word that comes to mind when I think of Maggie. But, then, there are so many other words that describe her: generous, witty, amazingly knowledgeable, patient, unselfish, joyful......one could just keep going on and on. It was my pleasure to be one of her digitizing students, but I know I will never reach the heights she did in that endeavor. She made me and the world a better place, and is sorely missed. Dear Mags - a household name in our house. The daily e-mails from her embroidery group site made her seem like another member of the family. She is sadly missed - so generous with her time and expertise in just about everything anyone needed help with! No question was ever considered stupid, and her patience with those who forgot what they were taught was endless. Mags invited me to join her group when I was floundering with a new embroidery machine and I'm so grateful that she did. She'll never be forgotten.

Dear, dear Maggie. I loved hearing you laugh as you taught us so much about digitizing. May we all emulate the joy you showed in caring for , giving to, and loving others. What a treasure of art you created in your lifetime to be enjoyed by your family. You are missed.
