In loving memory of Jonathan Dick who sadly passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 18th April 2019. Jonathan is survived by his mother Mary, wife Gillian and step-children Morgaine, Gaenor and Rory.
The charities here are ones which Jonathan was passionate about (Motor Neurone Disease, Cat's Protection) and one which I am passionate about and which is relevant to my work (Papyrus, suicide prevention in the young). Jonathan also became very interested in Mental Health matters and recently completed the accredited Mental Health First Aid course. He was also due to begin a volunteering role at Kingston Hospital. It would be a lovely tribute to Jonathan if rather than buying flowers, you could donate to one of these charities.
I've also been asked about a dress code and whether people should wear black. Jonathan loved bright colours and so please just dress in a way that feels appropriate for you.
Jonathan was a much loved son of Mary and his late father Dennis, nephew of Doreen and Dougald, step-father to Morgaine, Gaenor and Rory, brother-in-law to Angela and Garry and uncle to Katherine and Louise. He was also my beloved husband.
Such a clever, kind, playfully humorous man, he will always be in our thoughts and hearts.

Jonathan was a kind, gentle, much loved friend with a wicked sense of humour. We worked together for many years at the BBC where he was a huge talent. I'm so glad I got to see him with Gill and the gang while I was home recently. I will continue to think of him fondly and smile as I remember all the mischief we used to get up to. I was shocked and very sad to hear that Jonathan has left us so young and so suddenly. He was a classmate of mine, and I remember his early talents in programming on the Commodore PET. He was probably one of the people who inspired me to work in software. I'm sorry I can't make it to the funeral today, but all of you are in my thoughts and in my heart. Rest in peace, JJ.
