John Trevis (4 Apr 1948 - 14 May 2019)

Well my darling I said goodbye yesterday and it was the saddest day of my life. I know that you would have been proud of your service it wasn't too mushy but laughter and many tears were shed. Family, friends and neighbors all came to say goodbye you were loved a great deal. I am missing you so much it hurts but I know you are now at peace and have earned your wings. Love you more than words can possibly say Pennyxxx

Dad yesterday we all said our goodbyes u wld of been so proud of penny she did u proud dad its was such a loveing service. U was very popular that it was standing room only .and u playing bowls Haha wished I'd seen that .look down on penny with a smile cause everytime she thinks of u she smiles u was soul m8s .take care dad till I see u again love u my own angel looking down on me xx

John you and Penny were the best neighbours anyone could have. You looked after Little Trixie for me and took her for walks on the early morning and when she lost the use of her legs you were so kind Your hugs and humour kept me going so often. I cannot express my sadness at your going and will remember you always. See you one day up there

John was a lovely man. I have known him for a long time. He has a special place in my heart. John was good hearted he would do anything for you if you needed him. He was wonderful when David was ill he took the time to come and see him which I was so grateful for . He had a wonderful sense of humour and when ever I saw him would always pull my leg and he gave great hugs. After David passed away if I was down and I saw him he could always make me smile. I will miss him so much and life is drearier without him. He was taken to soon will live on in my heartxxxxx

Although we only knew John for a couple of years it feels we have known him a very long time. He hold a special place in our hearts and he will never be forgotten. Our lives are richer for knowing him . From the first time we met we hit it off with banter and laughter . Brie loved him from the beginning wanting to see him every time we past your garden, wanting to run down and see him knowing that John would great her, fuss and hand over treats, she always looked out for him. He was a lovely kind hearted man who would do anything for you , it was a pleaser to known him , we loved our chats on the bank, will miss them dearly. (Kate) will miss her hugs. RIP John. When i first met John (JT) back in 1987 we hit it off straight away, i don't know if it was my Mining background and John's Steelworks but we had the same sense of humour so ever since no matter how long it has been between seeing each other or on the phone it was not very long before we were reminiscing and laughing our heads off. He was always there to give you a hand at work or home and i always felt he was one of those friends that would always be there for you no matter how far away he was. He was the salt of the earth and will be sorely missed by everybody he came into contact with.

Such a lovely man, taken too soon. I will always remember your smile, your caring & helpful ways. You were most definitely one of a kind. Always willing to help. I hope to be there on 30th to pay my respects. Rest in peace John.

JT we had a friendship that lasted for over 40 years since starting work at Eastcroft as crane drivers back in 1974.
We had some great times and got up to a lot of mischief it was a surprise we didn’t get the sack, we didn’t.
We also had some memorable Xmas pub crawls with you trying to get me in trouble.
We will all miss you John so sleep tight. Dave & Viv xx

When we think of you John it will always be with a smile, remembering all the laughs that we have had with you and Penny on our trips away. Remember Prague when we almost got thrown out of the bar for laughing at the band and the Isle of Wight when you came back into the lounge of the hotel using someone's walking frame. Too many to mention but none will be forgotten. We will look after Penny, take care love Jane and Kev xxx

John You know how much I love you and I honestly don't know what I am going to do without your love and advice. Whether you believe in heaven or not I know you are there with your mum and brother and sister and of course lovingly annoying my mum. Don't forget the promise you made to me.
