Maxine(or Hatfield as my dad used to call you), you were a big part of my childhood, my mums best mate. Always laughing, always swearing! You had a heart of gold. Life wasn’t always kind to you, losing Dave so young and so suddenly and then losing Simon so tragically but you were a strong and feisty woman who called a spade a spade and you soldiered on. You took your illness in your stride too, never feeling sorry for yourself and carrying on as if it wasn’t anything to fuss about. It got the better of you and you couldn’t fight it anymore. Rest now Maxine, you will be sadly missed ... love Julie & Lee Broster x

It’s always hard to know what to write on things like this.
Straight talking, no fuss, to the point. Probably the qualities I’ve taken from you (and of course mum). Some of the fondest memories I will always have and will always retell are from when I woulda sleep at yours some weekends.
Sat down for the soaps, if you want a drink or supper it can be done during the break in coronation street, there are 6 adverts on in total during that break. Enough to make a tea, plenty of milk 2 sugars. I think that’s where Stevie gets her love of tea from.
You really did fight against the illness and for so long. Incredibly strong and stubborn. Probably more qualities I’ve got from you and mum.
Be at peace, but know you will have left big holes one everyone’s hearts.
