Judith Isobel Clifford (nee Lymbery), was born on 23rd January 1930 to Harold & Phyllis Lymbery. She had a loving family childhood with her brother Ian & sister Rosemary. They lived at No. 10 Alexandra Street , Nottingham for most of their lives and were lucky enough to enjoy many family gatherings in their house by the sea at Sutton- on -sea. She studied at Nottingham High School and made many life long friendships through her school years.
In the good old days of dance rooms & dance balls, she met her husband to be, Brian Clifford (Claud Brian to be precise), in the late 40's and after a seven year engagement married in 1958.
Arriving in 1961 was Charles Nicholas Clifford and soon followed in 1963 by their daughter Wendy Elizabeth Clifford.
They lived at Zula Road for the first year or so of their marriage and then moved to Patterdale Road, Woodthorpe, Nottingham.
This was their home until Brian died in 2004 , Mum remained in the family home making it a residence for 52 years.
Judy & Brian provided a loving family upbringing for Nick and Wendy who could have not asked for any better start to life. A super social environment around the Casuals rugby club and of course Nottingham Squash Rackets Club.
Both selflessly, gave their time to support the Squash Club and also to 1st Arnold & Woodthorpe Scout Group. They were driving forces in raising funds to get a magnificent Group headquarters built in the 1970's, when Brian stepped back and concentrated on the Squash Club. Judy continued her fund raising efforts to help secure the future of the Scout Group. Judy received a Scout "Thanks Badge" from the Association for her support of the movement. The Scout Group is thriving today thanks to the efforts of Brian & Judy with so many others. Likewise their efforts in supporting the squash club was recognised by way of Honory Life membership.
Through Mum's life she continued to be the support that only a loving mother can give to both Nick & Wendy as they flew the nest of Patterdale Road. After a couple of falls which she bounced back from with gritty determination, Judy enjoyed life at Patterdale Road with her garden blooming up at every opportunity. Judy loved her garden, cultivating plants from so many friends and relatives that it truly was a garden with special memories , like her fathers blue hydrangea from Alexandra Street.
Her kind nature had reaped rewards in the longstanding neighbourhood relationships and friends through the squash club & scouts, she had developed, which supported her in her later life, be it cleaning, gardening, tucking her up in bed! or company over a cup of tea and her famous favourite biscuits & cheese straws.
For this Nick and Wendy will always be so grateful.
Judy passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday 5th April 2015 at the age of 85.

As an individual that went though 1st Arnold & Woodthorpe Scouts, I can remember Judy from attending various fundraising events during the 1990's.
She was instrumental in helping to get the Scout Hall built and ensuring that it remained open, with all her fundraising efforts. Its a hall which still to this day is often looked upon in envy by many other Scout Groups within the Central Notts Scout District.
The hall has helped provide Scouting to no doubt thousands of children over the years. Currently around 70 children meet for Scouting purposes each week, with several guide groups also use the hall as a base. All of this would not have happened without the efforts from Judy over the years.
She will be a great loss.
