For Arthur………
Not many people will leave this world leaving behind an imprint quite like you.
The examples you set, the standards you had, will be remembered by all who you knew.
A true gentleman, quite like no other, so sincere, honest and kind
We will never forget the man that you were, a more genuine person you could not find.

You were charming, charismatic, yet modest as well, your contentment in life shone through.
A wonderful being, a real one off, so admired and so respected too.
You gave so much and asked for nothing, your generosity knew no bounds.
Happy to share with us all that you had, your endless giving to all would astound.

A more sociable man you could not meet, even living it up as you got older.
A love of singing, dancing, calling bingo, and of course your Bells Whisky and soda!
Your friends and family feel so privileged, to have shared in your life and been part
Of the many fond memories we all have of you, which will forever live on in our hearts

The bond that you shared with Alan, was really second to none,
A mutual admiration, of son to father and father to son
The two of you together would sometimes drive me mad,
Repeating stories and jokes from the past, ….well I suppose they weren’t all bad!

As a granddad you were truly proud; Olivia, Lucas and Oscar adored and loved you
They shared great times and had lots of fun with Granddad Arthur and Nana Dot too.
It was an honour to have you as my father-in-law, you showed me love and care
I will treasure having been your daughter-in-law, and the special friendship that we shared.

I could go on all day, indeed all of us could, as there really is so much to tell
Of your 83 years, a life so worth living, and Arthur…….did you live it well!

With love from your Daughter-in-law.......Jane xxx

To our wonderful Uncle Arthur - 'The Godfather'. We will miss you so much. I couldn't have wished for a better godfather. You have always been a true gentleman and caring family man. You taught us dignity in adversity and more importantly, to realise how modest we should be! You were always the life and soul of every family get together. We will always see you at the top of that table with family and friends around you. Goodnight, God bless. x

I Live On

I died but did not leave you.
I am here, and have not gone.
Though my spirit left my body
don’t be sad, for I live on.

My love is all around you.
Can you feel it? Can you see?
That gentle breeze upon your face
is not the wind…but me.

I'm the sweet song of a bluebird
when spring is in the air.
I'm the roses in a garden.
You can find me everywhere.

Whenever you are missing me
look up to heaven’s skies.
I'm the twinkle in the stars.
I'm the sunset, and sunrise.

I'm a raindrop and a rainbow.
I'm the ocean’s waves of blue;
So everywhere you go you’ll know,
I live on, loving you.

In loving memory of my dear friend Arthur. Thank you for everything. I hope this poem brings comfort to your friends and family.
Love Jackie Holt xx

Such a sad loss for all the family. You were a true gentleman Uncle Arthur and your smile lit up a room!
Our funniest memory was our wedding day and you rang to say you wouldn't make it for the reception as you had been out from the night before celebrating your birthday! You strolled into the evening do all refreshed and raring to go again! We thought it was hilarious. You loved your nights and of course your tipple or two! Hope you are having one up there! God bless xxxxx
