MICHAEL HARRY KING

A much loved husband, father, father-in-law, grandad and friend who sadly lost his courageous fight to Pancreatic Cancer on 22nd May 2015. He passed peacefullly at St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger with his wife by his side.

Mike trained as a Design Draughtsman in Mechanical Engineering and spent his career in the Woodworking industry. He was very much admired and respected for his professionalism, integrity, knowledge and support.

Mike was a life long Leicester City supporter passing on the burden to his son's and grandsons! Football was his passion, playing from an early age, managing and coaching his son's teams and then becoming a referee. His other passion was steam trains. As a boy he was a train spotter and in recent years enjoyed many steam train trips with his wife and friends.

Our family would prefer no flowers but if you wish to, please donate to one of the charities listed, and also to StJohn's Hospice Moggerhanger.

I just found this announcement about Mike's dead by coincidence, while looking four some technical info about machines. I knew Mike as a very gentle and professional colleague, and could welcomed him e few times with customers in Belgium and Holland. It was always fine to meet each-other on exhibitions and/ or meetings in Rimini.
A colleague that was very much appreciated for the person and the specialist he was,
I will remember him always !

My sincere condolences to the family,

West Ham v Leicester will not be same but the fixture will always remind me of the laughs we had on match day and of course the inevitable moans and groans that come with being an avid fan.

Mick King. In memory of a long standing friend who never failed to greet you with a warm and cheerful welcome, regardless of how long we had last met and he has left this world far too early and will be sorely missed by all. David and Diane Welch
