In loving memory of Kevin Hood. Kevin had been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. He had an operation in March to treat the condition and was receiving Chemotherapy as part of the long term treatment. He had almost completed this treatment when a secondary infection was discovered. Having undergone emergency surgery he sadly lost the battle in fighting the infection and passed away on Saturday 8th August with his family at his bedside.
The funeral service will be held at Chelmsford Crematorium South Chapel at 3.30pm on 24th August 2015 and afterwards at the Admiral J McHardy Public House 37 Arbour Lane Chelmsford cm1 7rg.
Those of you who had contact with Kevin recently will know the great joy he experienced following the birth of his first grandchild Ivy. We feel sure that Kevin would have wanted donations to a charity supporting start of life care in preference to floral tributes. We have chosen the Neo Natal baby care unit at Broomfield Hospital who are at present trying to save sufficient funds to purchase two warming incubators for premature babies. We would prefer a donation to this charity in preference to floral tributes.

I can only describe Kevin as one of the most selfless and generous human beings I ever had the pleasure to meet. It was an honour to be considered one of his friends. We will meet again one day so you can continue taking the mick and amuse yourself on my behalf.

We still cannot believe Kevin is no longer with us. He became a great friend to us and our family over the last couple of years. We will miss him and think of him often. Thinking of Tracy and family at this sad time xxx

We were so shocked and sad to hear of Kevin's passing. He was such a friendly, reliable and genuine man. Helped us out and supported us immensely with our work over the past year or so we had known him, and had become a good friend. He will be sorely missed.
