In loving memory of Kate Elizabeth Jakes (ne Trevener)

Kate was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend to many people. She adored her sisters and was a very family orientated lady who whilst in hospital always wanted to spend time with her family, Kate had many friends and since her untimely death has shown their love for Kate and support for her family.

Kate was a very bright and beautiful young lady, who from the age of 17 had suffered from ill health and battled through this with courage and a smile for everyone she had met.

Kate had 3 liver transplants and used her experience and knowledge to help reassure other liver transplant recipients recover and help their families to cope with their situations. Kate made a lot of friends in the process and was well thought of for her determination and courage to carry on helping people even when she was in hospital. Kate was an big advocate for organ donation as she knew the importance.

Unfortunately Kate lost her brave battle on the 7th of August 2015 whilst awaiting for a 4th liver transplant at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, I would like to pass on how brave, strong and beautiful Kate was in her last days, the strength and grace shown by Kate helped us as a family get through this dark time.
As heartbroken as we are as a family we know Kate is shining bright and inspiring others to fight their own battles and looking after her loved ones, for the time I was married to Kate it was a privilege to call her my wife.

We will always love Kate till the end of time and back xxx

Kate, so sad when I heard the news. I just wanted to say it was an honour and a privilege to have looked after you, even if only for a short time. Rest in peace.

Dearest sweet Kate.

Over the past few years of doing your hair and the few hours at a time that we spent together. The calls and text etc. We got to know one another well and every quickly because we ere both so open. I know you had a terrible struggle but you never let it show. We always laughed and that overshadowed your illness, which shows your resilience and strength of character.

I am glad you found the love of your life and that you were able to experience it as you truly deserve what many never find.

Love and fondness always.
