I would highly recommend J T Howe funeral directors to anyone. James provided a sensitive and proficient service for an unusual situation that involved liaising with another funeral directors in a different area. He has been considerate, informative and supportive about our choices as a family at every step in the process. His firm is also reasonably priced.

We can't thank James enough for his invaluable guidance and his compassion. The day after our mother passed, we contacted James in a blur of sadness and confusion. He gently talked us through the process and arranged every detail, taking away the stress and worry, and allowing us to really focus on saying goodbye to mum the way that we wanted to. His professionalism and attention to detail was outstanding and we would not hesitate in recommending J.T Howe.

James was very sensitive and understanding during this time. He dealt with the coroner's office and answered any questions we had. He sorted everything from the crematorium the wake and the scattering of our father's ashes. As a family we can only say the help and support we received from JT Howe was fantastic.

JT Funeral Directors helped organised the cremation of a loved pet and I was impressed about there willingness to help for things that are a bit out of the ordinary. Nothing was too much trouble

From moment of first contact with James, and considering the circumstances, the experience was 'pleasant '.The service provided was very professional, James explained the procedure in detail and there was no problem accommodating my late father's wishes. James and his colleagues were professional, courteous gentlemen and my family feel that everything went as scheduled, even though an unexpected post mortem had to be taken. Would highly recommend and would be happy to use again (but not too soon). Thank you James.

James and Emma helped us arrange Richard's funeral in a short space of time.
Richard wanted a humanist ceremony and a tree to be planted on his grave.
James arranged for a non religious ceremony which was a celebration of Richard's life to take place in the methodist church. He also arranged for a wake with catering and a pop up bar in the town hall in the afternoon after Richard was buried at a private ceremony at the woodland burial site at Hope. Richard had decided before he passed away that he wanted to be buried at Hope and it was great that he got what he wanted. James was very helpful from the start . The day went very well from start to finish thanks to James and his team.

We had to arrange a funeral for my mother in law was totaly stuck on what to do we phoned Mr howe up and his mannerism
towards us was outstanding he was always informing us as to what will happen on the day so that we didnt miss anything out...he did a marvelous job would recommend to everyone.

I have used James & Emma for both my parents’ funerals, my mum’s during Covid. I cannot fault the service they provided, being professional and empathetic especially during the tough restrictions in place during the pandemic. They made the process of saying goodbye to a loved one seamless and I would highly recommend them.

I’m not usually a fan of leaving reviews for anything but it has to be done on this occasion because the care & compassion shown from everyone at J.T.Howe was unbelievable. My husband passed away at home suddenly & was taken to Chesterfeild hospital by another undertaker. The undertaker that took my husband was called by the ambulance as I was really upset. I wasn’t happy with they way collected my husband & was concerned that I would have to use them for my husbands funeral. It was only after calling James late that night he reassured me that I could use a different funeral director for the funeral. I’m so glad l chose them because they went the extra mile from start to finish & I am planning to take a funeral plan out with them in near future.
