Guide to Funeral Directors in Exeter

Exeter is a medieval cathedral city famed for its beautiful architecture and religious and cultural importance. It is the county town of Devon, and home of Devon County Council. The city has a population of approximately 125,000 people, served by 11 funeral directors.

Compared to other English cities, Exeter has a higher proportion of Christian residents, though around four per cent of residents are of Asian heritage. Exeter also has a significant Chinese population, thanks in part to its renowned and respected university. This means that some funeral directors may have experience catering to a range of cultural traditions and religions. Check with your chosen funeral director to ensure they can meet any requirements you have.

The Exeter and Devon Crematorium, situated off Topsham Road, is independently run, while East Devon Crematorium is situated between Exeter and Honiton and is privately run. Exeter City Council is responsible for the management of three graveyards in and around the city: Exwick Cemetery, Higher Cemetery and Topsham Cemetery.

We would like to thank LeRoy Funeral Service especially Michaela for making the day as stress free as possible.  Micaela and the team answered every question that was asked and allayed any concerns we had.  I would highly recommend LeRoys Funeral Service for peace of mind.

We cannot thank Malcolm and his team enough. I highly recommend ISCA Funeral Services. The thing that really stands out about Malcolm is his emphasis on the feelings of the families, what they need and what they want. Everything is client focussed and nothing is too much trouble. In addition the ISCA tram are very organised and professional and everything went like clockwork. They are so honest and competitively priced also. Even the probate and wills specialist Malcolm recommended is so honest and professional. And Blooms the flowers were great. But I can't stress enough that the major difference with ISCA is the sensitivity and the fact we were made to feel so in control and special, not just another client. We felt like ISCA were part of our family. A big big thank you to Malcolm, Julie (celebrant, amazing person) and the team around them for helping us through this difficult time. Regards Steve Farrar and the Johnston family
