We live in the USA and had to organize everything from afar. The Southgate & Roberts team was exceptional in delivering all the aspects of a beautiful funeral service. Highly recommended.

We Cant Thank Enough All At The Southgate & Roberts But Especially Darren Lucas For All The Support,Help,Understanding ,Kindness And Respect To Make Extremely Painful Situation To Be So Much More Bearable. Darren Went Over And Above To Help Us To Send Loving Father, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Friend And My Ex Husband Brendon Off With Dignity He So Much Deserved 🙏 We Used Southgate &Roberts Chapel What Was Perfect For Brendon's Memorial Service..Because Brendon Have Family Back In South Africa They Arranged And Set Up Zoom Online So That Family Can Watch Service Live Online. They Were Extremely Helpful And Caring. And They Aren't There To Rip You Off Like Many Of The Big Funeral Directors. It Was Very Clear That They Are There To Support Families During Sad Times. I Would Highly Recommend Southgate & Roberts To Everyone Who Unfortunately Has Lost Their Loved Ones, But I Know They Will Be Cared For With Respect And Dignity. Thank You So So So MuchFrom Bottom Of My Heart , Brendons Daughters And Family And Friends ...We Are Eternally Greatful To Darren, Neil and Team At Southgate &Roberts 🙏

I cannot express enough how grateful we are as a family for all the support we have received with Mum’s funeral. The level of professionalism, respect and empathy shown has been outstanding! Darren in particular has made a difficult situation much easier and gone above and beyond to ensure our family and Mum were looked after and comforted when needed. I would highly recommend Southgate and Robert’s. We are very thankful for everything.

I recently had the experience of working with Southgate and Roberts for the funeral arrangements of my father, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for their service, particularly the support and guidance provided by our funeral director, Liam.

From the very beginning, Liam was an anchor of support for us during one of the most challenging times of our lives. His welcoming nature and constant availability provided much-needed reassurance. He managed to make a difficult situation more bearable through his discreet and thoughtful advice, always respecting our wishes and providing guidance with the utmost sensitivity.

Liam's professionalism, coupled with his genuine compassion, truly made a difference. He was meticulous with every detail, ensuring that the service was conducted with dignity and in a manner that truly honored our loved one's memory. His dedication to not just meeting, but exceeding our expectations was evident in everything he did.

I wholeheartedly recommend Southgate and Roberts to anyone in need of funeral services. Liam's exemplary service and the overall professionalism of the team are commendable. At a time when we needed guidance, support and kindness Darren provided the most detailed, dedicated support that we could have hoped for. I felt that the attention wasn't just on the process of what needed to be done but on the wellbeing of myself and the wider family. Things went as smoothly as possible and the one issue that came up at the end, an oversight from us as a family, was smoothly picked up and resolved. The funeral directors from the very first telephone call to collect my father having just passed away were very compassionate and kind and courteous, and assisted with everything we could possibly want and asked for. Even on arrival, to take my father to the funeral parlour they were understanding and even asked what time would we like dad's taxi to arrive to take him (I will never forget it as it really touched us that they were taking him and were so respectful to even refer to the car to take my departed dad as a taxi they were so kind) and ensured everything was dealt with and especially on the day. Everyone was professional and nothing was too much trouble and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone as they couldn't have been better. The staff were approachable and reachable at all times and the whole experience even though for us was a distressing time was co-ordinated and made all the arrangements so we had nothing to worry about throughout the day. I can't thank them enough for all they did and the staff were over and beyond helpful and caring.

Darren and his Team looked after us all with so much patience and compassion. From the moment they took mum into their care until we said goodbye to her on the day of the funeral they were there for us at any time. The S&R Team were an incredible support to our family
From the time that I first called and spoke to Darren, walking us through every step, keeping us informed and providing recommendations. I never felt, for one moment, that it wouldn't be fine.
What made them exceptional was the very personal steps they took on the day to honour Dad. I can't tell you how much comfort that gave us on the day and how it made everyone smile at a time when our hearts were broken.
They were exceptional.

Darren was compassionate throughout and the Funeral Service was so special .The team at Southgate and Roberts were so thoughtful they made the service into something beautiful as well as paying attention to my daughters favourite colour purple and lighting lavender candles. Everyone who attended the chapel service commented on how beautiful it was. I also would like to mention how gorgeous the flowers were that Darren organised for me and many thanks to the beautiful celebrant Tina such a kind and caring person. Bless you all for making the celebration of my daughters life so perfect x

I first made contact with Darren at Southgate and Roberts after my father passed away.
His professionalism and compassion was evident from our first phone call. He took all the stress away from this sad and difficult time and his attention to detail and constant updates enabled me to focus on  other issues. When I needed to provide information from time to time I never felt rushed or harassed . On the actual funeral day my family and I just had to turn up and everything was ready,  the service could not have gone more smoothly. 
I would highly recommend Southgate and Roberts, as such a professional and empathetic business is a rarity these days.
