In loving memory of Nan Jones who sadly passed away on 13th December 20

We are sad to report the death on 13 December 2016, of Nan Jones, 91, formerly of Penally. Nan and her late husband Kenneth lived in Penally for 40 years. Nan taught at Penally VC School for more than 20 years until she retired in 1980. As a specialist in teaching reading she was passionate about getting children to read. She was also a keen needlewoman and an enthusiastic member of Penally WI. As a past president of the Penally Village Hall committee she was pleased to revisit the village for the Hall’s 30th anniversary celebrations in 2014.

In 1996 Nan and Kenneth moved to Ashtead, Surrey to live closer to their daughters, Deborah and Lydia and their families. Nan joined the Ashtead WI and its book club and she remained an avid reader throughout her life.

The funeral will be on 4 January 2017 at Randalls Park Crematorium, Leatherhead at 11.45am. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Oxfam or the National Autistic Society, care of Alan Greenwood & Sons, Ashtead.
