My dearest Carl and the most wonderful father figure I could have ever had. You were in my life from the age of around 15 and I grew to love you as my own Dad. You were always there for me in both the good times and those times when I needed that extra bit of love and support. You were in mine and my Mum’s life for over 17 years and we both adored you. You helped shaped who I am today and I’ve done well so thank you for the sensible advice and love you showed me in getting where I am today. I have pictures of you around me and I will never forget the love and kindness you showed me. Mum and I still have a very strong bond with Karen and Nora and we consider them our close family. We see them as often as we can and Karen found your passing particularly hard. She felt she needed something tangible to hold and remember you so we gave her your chain and St Christopher pendant as she had nothing else to remember you by. We share photos and stories of our continued love for you. I know Karen was very special to you and we look after her in your absence as I know that is what you would have wanted. We celebrated Mum’s 80th birthday this year. Sadly she has dementia but is very happy and she lives in a cottage in our grounds. We miss you so much. We carry you in our hearts every day. RIP beautiful x

Johan Vervaeck lit a candle

I finally found Carl. I feel very very sad to read this message. Long ago, we were in the college of Waregem and we were very great friends. During six years, we always sat on the school desk together. And now I can't believe it. Carl was such a good felow, we loved each other and I haven't seen him since. I hope he didn't suffer too much. I will pray for him and his family. Rest in peace Carl, you was one of my best friends ever. Johan Vervaeck Oudenaardestraat 24 9870 Zulte Belgium
