Dearly loved husband of the late Dot, much loved dad of Julie, Lee & Joy.

Gary was a great man, every time he walked in the kitchen at home I could predict his first words 'alright Gal, are you making a cup of tea?" always knowing that when you did make the tea how many sweeteners it had in!
I will always remember him for taking me for shavings for the horses on a tuesday in the trusty red truck. We always called at the fish and chip shop on the way back for a scallop fresh from the fryer. We would get back to the yard and he would stand there and watch me unload them always saying 'you're younger than i am". That red truck was part of a lot of memories I have of Gary, another being where he picked me up from school not feeling very well and was sick all down the door. Gary wasnt bothered, he just got home and cleaned it down with the hosepipe from the yard. I'll never forget when he got me a birthday card one year saying 'To my Niece', we all had a giggle but he never did forget my birthday and always bought me a lovely bottle of perfume.
He was a kind caring man and I miss him very much. Love you Gary xxx

From day 1, Gary made me feel like his own Grandaughter. He never treated me any different and always made me feel like part of his family. I'll always remember when he used to take me and my sister to the Valentines Fun Fair which for some reason he called 'The Feast'. He was happy just to stand and watch us as we spent all his money on rides and junk food. I'm thankful he got to know Ash & Teddy and I'll miss him every day. I'll be thinking of him happy and reunited with Dot and eating fish & chips xx

Double G was an amazing grandad, friend and an excellent cards player. Although he wasn’t the best driver, he still managed to pick me and Reece up from school every Wednesday, take us swimming and the get us a cone of chips from Robbies fish and chip shop afterwards. He will be very sadly missed.
Love you xxxxxxxx

Gary surprised and saddened us when he left us, but we won't forget him for his love and support for his extended family and his unreserved willingness to help those who needed him. Depite ill health he always greeted with a smile and he never sought sympathy, but preferred to suffer in silence. He is sorely missed, but we are grateful that he can rest in peace.

Quietly you slipped away, we had no chance to say goodbye, so until we meet another day, forgive us if sometimes we cry.
For its not easy for those you've left behind, to lose someone so true and kind. But laugh we will when thoughts arise, as tears of joy fill our eyes. A part of us has been taken but a part of you remains forever in our thoughts and in our hearts.
Love you so very much.

Gary Keith Wainwright ..... a man I love and respected so much It hurt, a man that still at 47 years old I required his approval and blessing, a man who raised me to be the women I am today, a man who in my eyes could walk on water, a man who taught me right and wrong, a man who was always there for me when I needed him, a man who always provided for me, a man who was an amazing grandfather, a man who I was so proud to call my Dad, a man who truly was the first love of my life. A man who is no longer in pain and is together again with my mum...... Rest in Peace Dad x

Please give Mum and Jessica a big hug from me.... Love you x

Julie Lee & Joy, A lot of my childhood and adult memories included being with Auntie Dot, Uncle Gary and nana Wainwright. Christmas dinners on the steps, playing snooker on the massive snooker table, the plays we made them endure, Uncle Gary in short sleeves and unbutoned shirts. New years eve at the golf club with Uncle Gary and Aunty Dot jiving. Easter days out in the bus, Summer holidays when we would stay at each others houses. I miss Nana, Aunty Dot and Uncle Gary more than words can say. Not many cousins have been as close and thats down to the love Uncle Gary had for my mum and all of us. I hope we have lots more good times together and make him smile as he watches over us. Love you all xxx

He has always been a very good friend to my family, as as Dot.. particularly to my Mum and Dad who he visited regularly, we are all very fond of Him , I’ve never seen him in a bad mood ever and we looked forward to visiting him as he was so jolly and welcoming and we thought his house was like a mansion as kids with its 3 levels and huge window looking out in to the garden.. it was a treat for us visiting.
He moved me in to my first home and told me I shouldn’t be as too young and he said to my Dad ‘what are you doing letting her!’ I wish I’d listened 😆
He was just a fantastic all round person, not one negative could be said about him ❤️
