Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Larry in person (which I regret), it was a pleasure to know of him, mostly thanks to his lovely wife and daughter.

He was a brave, kind and selfless man who always seemed to put others first, no matter how he was feeling. He fought his illness with bravery, heart and courage, something that's neither easy or commonplace.

He had a great sense of humour and a glint of cheekiness in his eye - it's easy to see why so many people called him a friend.

He has the kind of spirit that never goes away, I am quite sure he'll be around those who loved him and miss him and he'll make his presence known. I hope Larry is resting, keeping an eye on his nearest and dearest and putting his feet up with a good meat and potato pie and some belting Northern Soul tunes.

Sleep tight Larry x
