In loving memory

Happy memories of time spent with cousin Anita at Upnor in the 1950s. Our Auntie Marjorie and Uncle Charlie used to come and stay with our Grandad at Strood every summer.
The family had a special place at Upnor: a large grassy area surrounded by trees and hidden from the crowds on the river front. Uncle Charlie had hidden a kettle in the bushes. It remained there from one year to the next. When we visited we retrieved it and lit a fire on the grass so that we could brew tea. We used twigs and branches to make stumps for an improvised game of cricket.
Anita's fondness for rivers and the sea stayed throughout her life. She maintained she could never live inland because she had to be near the water.

I have so many beautiful and loving memories of my dear God-mother and special Auntie. Lots of childhood memories of coming to stay at her home, along with my Uncle and cousin.
I am most grateful for the way she shared Jesus with me as a child. Planting seeds within my heart ...she knew that His presence would carry me and strengthen me in life. I will forever be grateful for her boldness in Christ.
She gave me a love for books..for words..for poetry..gifting me with books as a child. Auntie Anita always had a love for animals and I shared in that love with her..the first animals I ever loved were hers..marmalade and Zsa Zsa.
Finally I am thankful for the music that she shared. Times speant together playing the guitar and singing.
I know that as she drew her last breath here on earth..she then drew her first in heaven. Without a doubt.. the angels were singing..as Jesus gathered her into His arms and said "Well done, my good and faithful servant..well done."
Our thoughts and prayers are with Uncle Neil and Rowena..may God strengthen and comfort them in their grief..and may He remind them of the beautiful reunion that awaits them.
