Sadly, Vernon Birtles left us on May 3rd, 2019. He was a beloved father, husband and friend who will be dearly missed. He requested that there should be no floral tributes by mourners at his funeral; instead of sending flowers, we ask that those wanting to mark his passing make a charitable donation in place.
We have decided to collect online for the Nottingham University Hospitals Charity, which aims to enhance patient care in the city. The expertise of the doctors and nurses at both the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital gave Vernon many more years of life and the family many more fond memories of him. In this time he was able to to enjoy seeing two of his children get married, hold his first two grandchildren, and of course, become the EBA All England Top Club Champions with the Cavaliers Bowls Club.
